Our Story

The Brancato family has been part of the barbering and beauty industry since 1948, when Andrew Richard Brancato, Jr. began selling barber and beauty supplies from his van throughout Boston. His hard work and reputation for service grew into one of the largest barber and beauty supply companies in New England.

In 1991, his son, Andrew Brancato III, continued the family legacy, opening multiple retail stores, mall kiosks, and seasonal locations. He later launched Men’s Spa at the Mansion, the first full-service barbershop of its kind—14 chairs inside a fully renovated salt-and-stall mansion overlooking Suntaug Lake. The space blended upscale grooming with spa-level amenities, offering hair, skin, nail, and massage services in an environment where men could feel completely comfortable. The concept thrived. Men embraced a place designed specifically for them, and women frequently purchased gift cards for the men in their lives.

In 2019, a new generation stepped forward as Andrew Brancato IV opened three barbershops under Brancato Barber Co., including Newbury Street in Boston and Winter Hill in Somerville. With more than 7,000 five-star reviews, the Brancato name continues to represent excellence in men’s grooming.

Today, after decades of success in the industry and in real estate, Andrew Brancato III is expanding the vision once again. The next chapter is Boston Beard and Blade—a refined, modern men’s spa experience built on family tradition, innovation, and a commitment to helping men look and feel their absolute best.
